WebMaster: Fran Baker

FranOnTheEdge welcomes you to the 3D Lab.This is where various 3D things are happening.

I have freebie textures, models and a load of waffle.

Models are made mostly in Wings3D, but some are made in Bryce. Bryce models are in “*.obp” format and Wings3D models are in “*.obj” format.

Textures are fairly large.  Some of the photographic textures are taken with a Canon EOS 20D, and some with a FujiFinePix S7000.

The Gallery contains some of my latest images, created in Bryce5.5c

I was just playing around with stuff in the DTE in Bryce, and decided to see what it looked like with the “Stava VIII” in the vicinity of this dangerous looking red miasma - turned out okay, I thought.

Peggy Walter’s has a tutorial on using these empty presets, which I found invaluable, the link to her site is on the Related Sites page.

Here below are the empty Bryce presets individually.  The Trees preset is not empty since that is not possible, it just has the basic trees in it.

This is an Omani Bus shelter, the original is located at the top of the Jebbal (green and fertile mountains) just above Salalah on the coast of Oman.  It was incredibly dirty and weathered looking when I last saw it after the Khareef (wind, rain and wind-born sand).  So this is my interpretation of what it should have looked like when newly restored, the underneath material looks pretty close but I chose copper for the top and I’m told they actually just painted it white.  Tough, mine’s staying copper!

A photograph of the original structure can be found on the Oman Page, and to see how this idea developed go to Bryce Page 4 plus more stuff on Bryce.
